Origins of the Merkabah
Dating back to Old Dynasty Egypt and Hebrew mystical traditions, the Merkabah is an ancient tool for spiritual growth. In Hebrew the word means “Chariot.” This ancient concept represents a divine light vehicle, a chariot that allows the soul to ascent to higher realms of consciousness.
Mer means light.
Ka represents spirit.
Bah is the body.
It is referenced in Ezekiel 1 and ancient literature as “stories of ascents to heavenly places.” Because it is divinely linked to all creation, the Merkabah is found in many religions and cultures.
The Merkabah consists of two interlocking tetrahedrons spinning in opposite directions, creating a three-dimensional star tetrahedron. The upward-pointing tetrahedron represents masculine energy (fire; pulls energy down from Heaven). The downward-pointing tetrahedron represents feminine energy (water; pulls energy from the Earth up to Heaven).
The spinning tetrahedrons create a vibrant energy field around the body which invites in heightened intuition, energy and protection. Many find meditating within this energy field is healing physically, emotionally and mentally.
The Connection to the Flower of Life
The Flower of Life is a geometric figure composed of multiple evenly-spaced, overlapping circles arranged in a flower-like pattern. This symbol is believed to contain the patterns of creation and is considered a blueprint for all life.
